A state prison volunteer chaplain and an Alabama Department of Corrections employee were arrested this week in separate contraband incidents. Andrew Turner, a former inmate, was arrested Wednesday at Bullock Correctional Facility. Prison spokeswoman Kelly Betts said ADOC’s K-9 team on Wednesday was notified that contraband was discovered on Turner, who serves a volunteer chaplain.

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Christopher Marcellos Scott Jr., who officials said is missing from a court-ordered facility in Anniston in northeast Alabama. Officials said he has been missing since Sunday and is now wanted on a third-degree escape charge.

Police are investigating circumstances surrounding a woman who was found dead in her Anniston City Jail cell last weekend. Corrections officers found Regina Ezell, 49, of Anniston unresponsive on the floor of her cell around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown was called to the scene shortly after and pronounced her dead, Anniston Police Department officials said.
